SUMMARY: Responsible for operating various machine tools to produce precision metal parts. Produces small batches or large quantities of manufactured parts. Must perform secondary functions such as assembly, welding, etc. Ensure products meet precise specifications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
- Reads and interprets prints/drawings.
- Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet and inspect tolerance requirements.
- Uses precision tools, machinery and equipment such as lathe, vertical milling machine, drill press, surface grinder, hydraulic press, chop saw, band saw, buffing, bending, welding, sanding, and a variety of other cutting tools and other equipment.
- Achieve up to +/-0.0005” tolerances.
- Machine parts such as tools and manufactured product out of metal, plastics and composites
- Properly and safely selects, aligns, secures and removes holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, materials, etc. onto/into machines
- Recognizes, deploys and properly uses cutting tools, inserts, fixtures and tooling
- Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment
- Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures
- Maintains specifications by observing machine operations; inspecting; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting setups/controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions
- Documents actions by completing production logs, in process inspection sheets, and E2.
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a diploma from recognized Technical School and three years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Skilled in one or more of the following: Manual Turning, Manual Milling, Bending, Grinding, Honing, Assembly, Polishing, Buffing, Finishing, and Laser Welding
- Training requirements: Refer to employee orientation checklist F622-01.
- Working knowledge of ISO9001 / ISO13485 QMS requirements.
- Computer skills preferred: Microsoft Office Suite (E-mail), basic computer skills
